Changes to Library Hours 🦃

The HKS Library will have modified hours on Veterans Day and during Thanksgiving Break.

Using mixed methods to study the politics of foreign aid, humanitarian responses, and refugee rights

Reva Dhingra is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Brookings Foreign Policy. She studies the politics of forced migration, international aid, and local governance in the Middle East and United States. She uses original observational quantitative datasets, survey methods, and semi-structured interviews in her research. She received her PhD in Political Science from Harvard University in 2022.

At this session of Data + Donuts, Reva will talk about policy responses to immigration and displacement, access to social services by immigrants, refugees, and communities, and the data tools and methodologies she uses in her work.

Eight books from the Native American Heritage Month book display in the HKS Library.

New Book Display: Native American Heritage Month 📚

Our November book display celebrates Native American Heritage Month. The National Congress of American Indians describes the month as "a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people."

In the display, you'll find literature and memoirs about Native American and Indigenous identities and experiences, as well as books on Native American and Indigenous politics, activism, and history.

Browse the display in person in the HKS Library, and online where you can access ebooks and other resources from around Harvard.

Political Buttons from 2022 Midterm Campaigns 🗳️

With Election Day only a week away, we've been excitedly checking the mail for all the political buttons donated to us from the 2022 Midterms! Every election cycle, the HKS Library grows our Political Buttons Collection through donations from campaigns across the U.S. This year, we've received buttons from House, Senate, and gubernatorial races in 18 states.

Resource Highlight: Economist Intelligence Unit 💱

If you're doing research on a country's economy or comparing the economy of multiple countries, the Economist Intelligence Unit is an excellent resource. EIU provides country profiles and data, including descriptions of the economy, politics, risk, regulation, and business environment of a particular country. It also offers a tool that can compare data across or within countries, and report on prices of commodities in major cities worldwide. Available for all HKS affiliates.
