Data Visualization Summer Camp at Countway Library 📊

Data visualization is the process of representing data through visually engaging graphics, summarizing big ideas in a readable way. Our colleagues at Countway Library are hosting data visualization learning opportunities all summer long! If you can't make it to the Longwood Medical Area, many of the workshops will be held online via Zoom. This is a great way to deepen your data visualization skills before the academic year starts.

We will use the R package ggplot2 to create publication-worthy figures. This is a hands-on seminar using example data to showcase the ggplot2 syntax and how to enhance a basic plot with aesthetics using various functions. We will also cover color customization in R and how to export figures to file.

New Book Display: Disability Pride Month 📚

The HKS Library's July book display celebrates Disability Pride Month, an annual celebration of the lives of people with disabilities. The month also aims to positively influence common perceptions of disability, challenge stigma around disability, and encourage efforts towards a more accessible world.

The books in this display include literary nonfiction, novels, and memoirs about the identities and experiences of people with disabilities. You'll also find books on disability history, politics, and policy, primarily in the U.S.
