Zotero is a free software tool that can automatically format citations and bibliographies, help you keep all your research in one place, and allow you to collaborate with others on research projects. In these workshops we’ll show you how to use Zotero to:

Borrow-A-Calculator 🔢

Did you know you can borrow calculators in the HKS Library? We have 14 scientific calculators and 9 standard ones. These are very helpful for exams, since most professors won’t allow you to use your cell phone during tests. You cannot reserve our calculators, though! First come, first served.

Unlike other items in our Tech Lending collection, you can borrow our calculators for a full 24 business hours. So, life hack: If your exam is on a Friday, you can borrow a calculator any time on Thursday and won’t have to return it until 6:00 pm the next day.

If you're working on a paper or project and need help moving forward, the HKS Library can:

Review your bibliographies to ensure everything is correctly cited
Help you build out your literature review
Find books, journal articles, news sources, and grey literature
Find and use databases and data sets

Writing Consultant ✍️

HKS affiliates can make appointments with the Communications Program's Writing Consultant. The consultant can help you improve style, structure, argumentation, citations, and use of data and grammar. They are not a copy editor nor a proofreader. Find details and make an appointment online.

Study Break: Stream Free Horror Movies for Spooky Season 🧟

Through Harvard Library, HKS affiliates have access to Swank Digital Campus. With Swank you can stream popular films, including horror movie favorites like The Babadook, The Blair Witch Project, Carrie, Dracula, Get Out, Jaws, The Shining, Us, and The VVitch.

Follow the instructions below to access Swank:

Find Swank Digital Campus in HOLLIS.
In the HOLLIS record, click the blue "Online Access" button.
Select your affiliation ("Student" or "Instructor") and create an account.
Stream films as you like!
