Alumni: How to Use the HKS Library 🎓

Whether you graduated from HKS last month or last decade, you can still use the HKS Library as an alum. Explore our guide to alumni services for details on:

Getting help from HKS librarians
Visiting Harvard libraries
Borrowing books and other physical materials
Accessing digital resources and technology
Finding free resources
Using public, other academic, and national libraries

While alumni can't get HKS Daily anymore, you can still get HKS newsletters delivered straight to your inbox -- including the Library's newsletter! This is useful because alumni can still attend library events, explore publicly available resources like book displays, and more.

To make sure you can keep receiving HKS newsletters after your HKS email expires, follow the steps below:

Scroll all the way to the bottom of this email (or any previously sent HKS newsletter).
Click "Unsubscribe or Update Email Preferences."
You'll be taken to a webpage titled "Communications Preference Center." In the "My Subscriptions" tab under "Contact Information," change your email from an HKS address to a personal one.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the webpage and click the red "Update Preference" button.
You'll now receive HKS newsletters to your personal email.

New Book Display: Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

The HKS Library's June book display celebrates Pride Month. Pride is an annual celebration of queer life, offering an opportunity for members of the LGBTQ+ community to gather worldwide and reflect on the ongoing struggle for equality, freedom, and liberation. Pride is celebrated in June to honor the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 in New York City, which launched the modern LGBTQ+ movement.

The books in this display include literary nonfiction, novels, memoirs, and poetry about LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, as well as books on LGBTQ+ politics, history, activism, academia, and research methods.

Summer Hours 🕒

During the summer, the HKS Library will be open:

Monday - Thursday | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday, virtual services only | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday | Closed

We will be closed on:

Wednesday, June 7 (Staff Celebration) | Closed 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Monday, June 19 (Juneteenth) | Closed all day
Monday, July 3 - Tuesday, July 4 (Independence Day) | Closed all day

New hours will begin on Monday, August 14. View full hours online.
